Pale but not yet stale Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Jan. 14, 1984
Olde Frothingslosh may be gone but it hasn’t been forgotten. A 1972 ad for the "pale stale ale with the foam on the bottom" will be shown Monday on NBC’s "TV Bloopers, Commercials and Practical Jokes." Rege Cordic, the former Pittsburgh disc jockey who dreamed up Olde Frothingslosh as a comedy bit on his radio show here, appears in the spot. The Pittsburgh Brewing Company began producing Olde Frothingslosh as a novelty item in 1969 - hence, the advertisement.
[The date quoted for production start is, of course, quite inaccurate. Production started in 1954. - Ric]
