Rege Cordic, whom many regard as Pittsburgh’s most colorful and creative radio personality, will end his 10-year association with WWSW and move over to KDKA on Labor Day.

Announcement of the move was made today by L. R. Rawlins, general manager of KDKA.

Moving with Cordic will be Karl Hardman, who provides the voices for most of the celebrated Cordic characters - Omicron, Quick-and-Easy O'Brien, and numerous others.

Same Time Spot

Mr.Rawlins said the popu1ar disc jockey and humorist would occupy a time spot on KDKA about the same as his present 6-9:30 a.m. interval six days a week on WWSW.

KDKA’s own morning show, featuring Ed Schaughnecy and Rainbow Jackson, is an institution of more than two decades in Pittsburgh. Mr. Rawlings said plans are virtually completed for a new Ed and Rainbow show in a new time slot.

“We know that Ed and Rainbow have thousands of loyal fans. We have plans to feature them on a new radio show in preparation. Ed is presently on vacation in South Carolina. We hope to announce the new Ed and Rainbow Show soon after his return.

Mr. Rawlins said that Cordic had signed a long-term contract with KDKA.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Tech drama school, Cordic began with WWSW in 1934 with a half hour morning program.
