Bob Tracey adds a personal touch to the musical proceedings on KDKA Radio Monday thru Saturday from 10 am-2 pm. Bob's knack of talking directly to the listener in a warm, winning manner and his feel for music have made him one of the most popular attractions in PITTSBURGH radio.

Tracey has been a part of the Pittsburgh broadcasting scene since May 1955 when he joined KDKA as "JOHNNY RYDER," co-host on the post-midnight "KNIGHT RYDERS" show which featured music, sports, news and interviews with the city's "night people." Then it was on to the afternoon spot and more listeners. He's been delighting the daytime listeners ever since July 1956 and has been in his present period since November 1965. 

His reference to listeners as "Tigers" is interesting. This led to the development of the "TIGER TROOPS" in 1964. Membership is open to Tracey fans and has reached over the 10,000 mark. Persons of all ages are in the Troops. They come not only from the Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland area surrounding Pittsburgh, but from many distant areas. There are card carrying Tigers in California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut and Florida. Also England, Japan and parts of Africa. Bob is a handsome 6'2", born in Rutherford, N.J. During World War II, he spent four years in the Navy as a medical corpsman with the First Marine Division. He began his broadcasting career with a small station in North Carolina and then joined the staff at WEAF, as NBC in New York City was known then. Bob and his wife, MARJORIE have been married since October 11, 1947. They live in Carnegie with their four children CANDICE, GREGORY, DANA and MARJORIE. His fans are almost as fond of Marjorie and the children as they are of Bob, and well they might be, for they make a beautiful couple. Bob's interests include flying, photography and motor scooters-he rides to work on one every day!
